In-N-Out Burger is a classic California-based burger chain serving classic burgers, hand-cut fries, and thick shakes since 1948. The first In-N-Out Burger location opened in Los Angeles and was the first drive-thru hamburger stand in California. The brand has always been known for its classic, no-frills approach and its commitment to using high quality fresh ingredients.
Paying homage to In-N-Out's rich history and California roots was important for the redesign. The crossed palm trees were added, which are a reference to the founder's favorite movie "It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World". Planting these palms in front of most In-N-Out locations became a tradition since 1972.
The proposed logo features a modernized version of the arrow and font with a color pallete palette of red, yellow, and cream to evoke the classic American diner aesthetic. The packaging and uniforms were also updated and refreshed. A combination of vintage and modern design elements were implemented to reflect this aesthetic.
